ABOUT ME SHORT INFO about Heidi a.k.a Farkkuneito Name:Heidi, also known as Farkkuneito Occupation:gardener, florist and landscape planner.Owner of a flowershop Other interests: graphic designing and webdesigning. Editor of Finnish Pharaoh hound magazine `Farkku` since 2005 Dogs: 3 pharaoh hounds and a mixed-breed Hometown: Oulu city, Northern Finland I have always been keen on animals. Well, actually my first pets were bees, spiders,frogs and other "wild animals", which I used to carry to my room from my journeys in the nature. As a child I was driving my parents crazy by bringing all kinds of animals indoors! Finally at the age of 6 years I got my first pets.. my first real pets were rabbits (...ha haa and now I have rabbithunters;) and my first rabbit lived to be 9 years old. Horses have also been part of my life when I was a child. I started riding lessons at the age of 7 years and that hobby continued to the age of 12 years. Today horses are still one of the most beautiful animals to my mind, but unfortunatelly I dont have the time to start riding again. I got my first dog at the age of 7 years. Lola, the little spicy girl was my best friend and she taught me how deeply an animal can love a human. She showed me the meaning of unconditional love. By the time Lola was in the afternoon of her life I had another dog, Nuka. Nuka is a mixed breed dog filled with love. Nuka is now 14 years old, but age is not an issue for her. She still runs and plays like a young girl! In 1995 I saw a pharaoh hound for the first time. I was looking for a new dog into my life and the breed I was mainly thinking of was pincher. Everything changed when I saw a pharaoh hound running gracefully in the ring - my heart and soul was sold to this beautiful breed instantly. It didn´t take long that I had my own pharaoh hound - only 6 months after the first encounter I carried a little red dog into my home. My journey with pharaoh hounds had started. The little red package was my Noora. Together with Noora I got to know all about the showbusiness and we didn´t do bad at all, considering that we were both beginners when we started back in 1996. For the first time that I had to take Noora to the groupfinals I remember shouting to the phone to my dear friend Hanna: " I dont want to go! It is too much for me...;)" Well, after that phonecall back in 1997 Noora has won several groupwins handled by me, even though I first didn´t want to go..! Noora is a star. And the light of my life. Wise and selfconfident leader within my dogs. In 2000 my pharaohhound fever arouse again and I started to look for another pharaoh to my life. Then after long and hard searching came Weera, Faouziahs Crown Jewel of the North. I really can say that a precious gift is always worth waiting for!Again I was blessed with a star.In 2001 I passed the course for breeders, but I never applied for a kennelname. Breeding dogs is not the thing for me, but if I change my mind in the future the obligatory course has been passed already. At this point showing my dogs and living with them is enough for me, but never say never;) In 2006 Weera gave birth to 2 puppies and the story continues in her offspring, although Weera is not retired from showrings yet. Year 2006 was also the year that ph # 3 came to my life, since Weera´s little girl -Merit, stayed at our home. This girl is chosen by the heart and the future will show us, what hobbies we will start with her. So today there is 3 pharaohhounds and a mixedbreed girl running around my house - my dogfamily. Every dog has fullfilled their places in my heart. Noora is the one who taught me the meaning of calmness, Nuka tauhgt me to always look on the bright side of life and Weera, she taught me how deep the connection between human and a dog can really be...and Merit, well her story is in the beginning, but for sure she has taught me that best things can be seen only by the heart. So it can be said about me that I´m charmed by the pharaoh hounds and animals in general. Other things that intrests me are photographing, webdesigning, seeing the beauty in everything.I have designed a few websites under nickname Farkkuneito and I can say that it has been a lot of fun! I love taking walks in the woods and in the nature. Listening to the sound of the wind in the trees early in the morning. Hearing the silence. Seeing the beauty of flowing water and burning fire. On the other hand I´m calm and like peace and quiet...the other side of me likes to dance all night, be wild and free.Full of contrarities, that´s me. -Heidi-
